It's 2018...Time to defeat some Republican Congress Members!

Article in the Sacramento Bee by Ellen Tauscher and Katie Merrill:

"It’s past time that California Democrats who know these local communities, these voters, and the issues they care about, were called on to develop the individualized and localized strategies and grass-roots plans to take these districts back.

That is why we’ve created Fight Back California, which is dedicated to defeating the California 7.

Who are the California 7? Jeff Denham, CA-10, Turlock. David Valadao, CA-21, Bakersfield. Steve Knight, CA-25, Palmdale. Ed Royce, CA-39, Brea. Mimi Walters, CA-45, Irvine. Dana Rohrabacher, CA-48, Huntington Beach. Darrell Issa, CA-49, Vista.

Democrats are just 24 congressional seats short of giving Donald Trump the reality check he needs and eliminating the Republican majority in Congress. And the road to Democrats taking back the House runs through California." CLICK HERE TO READ MORE.

LA Metro Board Kills 710 Tunnel Option

In case you missed it...on Thursday the LA Metro Board dropped support for the 710 Freeway tunnel - effectively killing plans for a 710 extension. Kudos to everyone who helped in the lead up to this historic vote, including the leadership of the South Pasadena City Council, BeyondThe710, Connected Communities and Cities (C3), and of course all the NO 710 activists who have been fighting for so many years.

Councilmember Dr. Marina Khubesrian said in the aftermath of Thursday's decision, "We are beyond the 710 and moving forward!" Here are more quotes marking the momentous occasion:

  • LA Times: "The Metropolitan Transportation Authority board voted unanimously to withdraw its support and funding for a five-mile, $3.2-billion tunnel through El Sereno, South Pasadena and Pasadena connecting the 710 and 210 freeways. Instead, the board voted to spend $700 million on a range of transportation fixes to ease congestion and other problems arising from traffic spilling onto the streets of Alhambra at the 710’s abrupt northern terminus."
